"When AOL Japan decided to launch FLETS ADSL services, Weisser Consulting was instrumental in assisting with the planning and project management. Speaking from the AOL parent company perspective... this launch went according to plan and has helped to drive the growth of broadband."

Market Entry - Japan and Asia

Weisser Consulting provides US and other global enterprises with cost-effective consulting services to establishing an effective business presence in Japan.  We have experience incorporating and representing companies, setting up both direct and partner sales, and developing both in-house and outsourced customer care systems.

Internet Business Development and Channel Management within Asia
Like any business, succeeding in the Internet business is about knowing the customer. While most businesses have a web site in place, few use the copious data that is available through analysis to determine the demographics of the likely visitor, and how they match up with the profiles of targeted customers. Beyond just the web site, however, a fairly large number of companies provide e-mail communications to partners and customers, as well as prospects. Rarely, however, are these communications tracked in any fashion, though they will occasionally be correlated with web site traffic. Weisser Consulting maximizes the understanding of the information that already exists, as well as making and implementing recommendations to better understand the customer.

For B2C (Business to Consumer) Internet sites, the process of online sales becomes even more complicated, with a combination of landing pages, banner advertisements, search engine optimization and a number of other factors driving actual commerce to the site. As one might expect, Japan is different than most other G-8 countries in that the bulk of E-Commerce occurs via COD, and the convenience store distribution network is also popular for lower cost items via E-Commerce.

Internet/E-Commerce Market Research, Localization and Product Design
With ten years of experience adapting Internet and software products for the Asian market, we have experience making products successful in the Japanese market, as Japan is different than the rest of Asia Pacific. In consumer E-Commerce space, for example, it might be enabling convenience store delivery, while in B2B it might include utilization of an industry specific EDI format.

After designing a product rollout strategy for the market, Weisser Consulting will also work with local re-sellers to ensure appropriate distribution for success in the Asian marketplace, with a focus on Japan.

"Weisser Consulting's Japan and Asia telecommunications operational expertise made them an obvious choice to work with the MCI Asia regulatory team. We needed someone with existing market knowledge and industry relationships capable of meeting our tight schedule. I look forward to working with the Weisser Consulting team again in the future."
